Ashish Kapoor, an Indian TV actor recognized for his roles in various popular shows, has been detained in Pune on a rape allegation.
His detention follows a woman’s report that Ashish assaulted her sexually at a house party in early August. The police stated that the FIR was registered at the Civil Lines police station in Delhi.
The complainant reported to the police that Ashish attacked her in a bathroom during a house party in Delhi in the second week of August. The FIR was lodged on August 11, and the police started looking for him.
Officials stated that the woman’s initial complaint identified Ashish as one of the accused, along with other unidentified persons. She subsequently altered her statement, eliminating any mentions of the others and alleging that Ashish had raped her.
In the meantime, the police are obtaining legal counsel and conducting their inquiry.
