Usman Khan Shinwari, a left-arm fast bowler, has declared his retirement from international cricket. He played for Pakistan in a single Test match, 17 ODIs, and 16 T20Is between December 2013 and December 2019.

Usman was awarded Pakistan’s T20I cap 58, ODI cap 216, and Test cap 240 – all in matches against Sri Lanka, in December 2013, October 2017, and December 2019, respectively.

He was additionally included in the Pakistan team for the ACC Men’s ODI Asia Cup in 2018.

The 31-year-old left-arm fast bowler took one Test wicket, in addition to claiming 34 ODI and 13 T20I wickets.

His top bowling displays feature two ODI five-wicket hauls versus Sri Lanka – 5-34 in 2017 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium and 5-51 in 2019 at National Bank Stadium, Karachi.

In 2021, he declared his retirement from Test cricket through a Twitter statement.

The cricketer announced on Twitter that he has fully recovered from his back injury and is “completely fit,” but he is saying goodbye to long format Test cricket.

“Because of my doctors’ and physiotherapist’s advice, I must step away from long format to prevent future injuries and extend my cricket career.
