Pakistan Will Nationwide Cancer Vaccination Campaign Tomorrow.

ISLAMABAD: Arrangements have been completed for Pakistan’s inaugural national cervical cancer prevention campaign, launching tomorrow (Monday 15th Sept 2025 ).

Officials stated that the vaccination campaign will take place from September 15 to 27 throughout Punjab, Sindh, Islamabad, and Azad Kashmir.

HPV vaccines and syringes have already been provided to the federal and provincial governments, as well as Azad Kashmir. During the campaign, a single dose of the HPV vaccine will be given to 13 million girls aged 9 to 14.

Vaccines will be offered at public and private girls’ schools, madrassas, designated locations, community centers, and via mobile vaccination units. Sources indicated that Punjab has obtained 8.8 million doses, Sindh has received 4 million doses, Azad Kashmir has 349,000 doses, and Islamabad has 152,000 doses.

Pakistan received vaccines and syringes valued at Rs 10 billion from Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.

The HPV vaccination program will be implemented in three stages: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by 2026, and Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan by 2027. Gavi will keep supplying vaccines at no charge during all stages. Authorities have verified that Pakistan intends to incorporate the HPV vaccine into its standard immunization schedule, guaranteeing vaccination for all girls aged nine and under. In upcoming campaigns, the government will buy the vaccine directly.
