Bollywood star Akshay Kumar recounted a troubling incident involving his 13-year-old daughter to emphasize the increasing threats of cybercrime aimed at kids.
During the opening ceremony of Cyber Awareness Month 2025 at the Maharashtra State Police Headquarters, Akshay Kumar disclosed that a stranger requested his daughter to send nude pictures while she was engaged in an online video game.
As per Akshay Kumar, the event occurred a few months prior when his daughter was playing a multiplayer game. While the session was taking place, an unidentified user started a chat, inquired about her gender, and subsequently requested inappropriate images. Stunned by the demand, she promptly exited the game and informed her family.
Akshay Kumar Urges Cyber Awareness In Schools
Describing it as a clear indication of the growing cybercrime menace, Akshay Kumar urged the Indian government to implement organized awareness initiatives in schools. He emphasized that students in grades 7 to 10 should have a weekly “cyber period” to educate themselves on online safety.
The Hera Pheri actor warned that cybercrime is growing faster than street crime and requires urgent action. He urged parents, schools, and policymakers to work together to protect children.
Through sharing his family’s experience, Akshay Kumar aimed to raise awareness about online predators and highlight that every child remains vulnerable unless strong protective measures are taken.
Vijay Sethupathi Faces Harassment Allegations
Meanwhile, South Indian actor Vijay Sethupathi has been accused of prolonged sexual harassment and casting couch by a social media user, though he has denied the allegations. The claims were shared in a now-deleted tweet by Ramya Mohan, who alleged she witnessed misconduct in the Tamil film industry.
