Floodwater Levels Drop at Punjnad, Rise at Guddu Barrage.

KARACHI: The inflow and outflow of water in the Punjnad river has shown a decline, according to the latest water data of rivers and barrages released by Sindh’s Information Department on Saturday.

The water inflow and outflow at Punjnad Headworks was measured at 575, 195 cusecs.

“The inflow and outflow of water in the Indus River at Guddu Barrage were noted at 544,658 cusecs and 514,051 cusecs, respectively,” as per the water data.

In the past day, an increase of 31,996 cusecs has been noted in the water level at Guddu Barrage, as reported by the barrage control room. The water level may rise again in the next 24 hours.

The katcha region of Kandhkot district has been entirely flooded, and hundreds of acres of cotton, rice, and other crops are also underwater.

The inflow and outflow of water in the Indus River at Sukkur Barrage were 470,580 cusecs and 422,400 cusecs, respectively.

Additionally, at Kotri Barrage, the Indus River’s water inflow was noted at 262,509 cusecs, while the outflow measured 254,354 cusecs.
