The attack focused on military assets, such as subterranean sites, within the Beaufort Ridge region.
The Israeli military stated it conducted an attack on a location operated by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon on Sunday.
“The military stated that the IDF (army) recently targeted military infrastructure, including underground facilities, at a Hezbollah location where military operations were detected, in the Beaufort Ridge region of southern Lebanon.”
“The presence of the site and activities occurring there violate the agreements made between Israel and Lebanon,” it stated.
Following the onset of the conflict in Gaza, Iran-supported Hezbollah and Israel were involved in over a year of confrontations that peaked in two months of direct warfare last year.
Following a ceasefire in November aimed at halting the violence, Lebanon’s armed forces have been moving into the south and dismantling Hezbollah’s infrastructure, aided by UN peacekeepers.
Israel, nonetheless, has maintained its attacks on Hezbollah positions in Lebanon despite the ceasefire and has promised to persist until the militant organization is disarmed.
