Meghan Markle has responded to recent controversy following Paris Fashion Week 2025, where a viral video appeared to show her laughing as a model tripped on the Balenciaga runway.
In the clip circulating online, the Duchess of Sussex is seen in the front row beside her friend Marcus Anderson, creative director of Soho House.
At one moment, Meghan appears to chuckle behind her hands, then turns to Marcus for a brief exchange, who maintained a serious look. Realizing his reaction, she quickly composed herself and resumed watching the show calmly.
Royal commentator Charlotte Griffiths, Editor-at-large of the Mail on Sunday, remarked that Meghan seemed “a bit uneasy” and “out of her element” during the event. She added, “When the model stumbled, Meghan laughed but immediately tried to hide it.”
However, a spokesperson for Meghan Markle has now clarified to the Daily Mail that she was not mocking the model and that her reaction was “misinterpreted.”
