NEPRA Declares a Drop in Electricity Rates.

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) On Tuesday Reported a decrease in electricity rates for consumers throughout Pakistan,

In a formal announcement, the authority declared a decrease of Rs1.78 per unit, relevant to all distribution companies (DISCOs) including K-Electric.

The decrease falls under the fuel charge adjustment (FCA) for July 2025.

As per the NEPRA announcement, the drop in electricity prices will be evident in consumers’ bills for September.

Those who already received their bill will notice the decrease in their bills for October, it stated.

The decrease of Rs1.78 per unit in electricity rates will provide relief of approximately Rs24.5 billion to electricity users throughout Pakistan.

Furthermore, K-Electric customers will experience a decrease of Rs0.78 under the FCA for June in their bills for September.

In July of this year, the federal government officially transferred the duty of distributing electricity bills to Pakistan Post nationwide.

To start, the rollout will occur on a trial basis, with Pakistan Post staff distributing bills in one sub-division of each DISCO (Distribution Company)
