Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s Family Journey
The couple tied the knot in May 2018 in a grand Mumbai wedding attended by Bollywood’s biggest stars. In August 2022, they welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Vayu Kapoor Ahuja.
Sonam had shared the spiritual meaning of her son’s name, linking it to Hindu mythology and the ‘paanch tatvas’ (five elements). Vayu, the god of breath, is regarded as the father of Hanuman and Bheem, symbolizing strength and courage.
Motherhood and Career Break
Sonam has been open about her motherhood journey, recalling how she chose the Gentle Birth Method during her first pregnancy. After welcoming Vayu, she took a step back from films to focus on her family. Her last release was the thriller Blind, which premiered on Jio Hotstar.
In interviews, Sonam mentioned that she wanted to fully enjoy raising her son. She described motherhood as “the most fulfilling journey” of her life.
Plans for Bollywood Comeback
While enjoying motherhood, Sonam Kapoor has also confirmed her plans to return to films. She revealed that her comeback project is set for late 2025 and will feature a strong, layered female character. Fans are eagerly awaiting her big-screen return.
